A Victorian mansion once owned by the man who founded the world's greatest golf tournament has been rescued from ruin and Ping Rapture V2 Irons turned into the ultimate 'des res' for dedicated golfers.

Coodham House, near Symington in Ayrshire was the family home of Colonel James Ogilvy Fairlie, creator of Prestwick Golf Course and the man who Ping G10 Irons launched the Open Championship in 1840.

The once ruined four-storey Victorian mansion has been resurrected from a derelict, burnt-out shell and turned into six exclusive apartments and three PING G5i Craz-E Putter additional luxury homes just minutes from Prestwick.

"Fairlie is credited as being the man who persuaded Golf Clubs for Sale Old Tom Morris, a noted golf architect as well as the game's No1 player at the time.
